We have positions available for our upcoming kayaking season and are looking for individuals that are hard working, motivated, personable and able to work well as a team. We contact potential applicants between January and March. Due to the high number of applicants, we recommend you send the following as soon as possible if you would like to work for us:

The following positions are available with Wildcoast

Camp Chef

Start date: Training and guiding kayak trips begins in June
Based in our remote base Orca Camp, on the shores of Johnstone Strait, the chef will produce delicious and healthy meals for staff and guests. The chef will be responsible to accommodate a variety of dietary needs and allergies while maintaining a hygienic and well-maintained camp kitchen and dining area. This is an off-grid camp. Chef will work on a rotating shift of 12 days on, and 12 off.

Lead Sea Kayak Guide

Start date: Training and guiding kayak trips begins in June
Based on Quadra Island BC, guiding in Johnstone Strait, Desolation Sound and the Discovery Islands. Must have previous lead guide experience, and current certifications. Class 4 drivers licence is also preferred.

Assistant Sea Kayak Guide

Start date: Training and guiding kayak trips begins in June
Based on Quadra Island BC, guiding in Johnstone Strait, Desolation Sound and the Discovery Islands. Must be willing to learn, follow direction, and have current certifications. Class 4 drivers licence is also preferred.

Assistant Operations Manager

Start date: Operations begin in May
Based on Quadra Island BC. This position is responsible for assisting with Wildcoast operational activities including but not limited to trip logistics, shop duties, maintenance and repair of equipment, and participation in staff training. Must be willing to learn, follow direction, and have a class 4 drivers licence. Prior kayak guiding experience and certifications also preferred.

Crew

Based on Quadra Island BC, these important members of our team are responsible for cleaning gear, dishes, and kayaks. Duties also include picking up guests, packing food and supplies and handling kayaking day tour inquires. Must be willing to learn, follow direction, and have a valid drivers license.
